Spoken Worlds is an open mic night for spoken word performance.
I started the event in November 2009 after the open mic night held at The Cube in Derby closed.
Our first event had an attendance of 17, we now regularly have over 20 - several come along purely to spectate.
There is no charge for the event since we moved to the Old Cottage Tavern, but on the occasions where we have guest (i.e. booked) performers there is an honesty box to help with expenses. Start time is as close to 7:30 as we can make it.
The original hosts of the event were Colin and Anne Lee-Draycott at the Anne Lee School of Drama, without whom the whole project would never have started. I am eternally grateful.
